58th session of the Commission on the Status of Women


The YWCA World Service Council will host a reception for the World YWCA delegation to the UN’s 58th session of the Commission on the Status of Women, March 10 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce
, 425 Lexington Avenue
, New York City.

The informational program part of the welcoming reception will begin at about 6:15 p.m. when we will hear exciting news of YWCA activities and challenges in key countries and also learn of the UN schedule for the two weeks of the CSW conference with many sessions open to visitors.

In attendance will be World YWCA General Secretary Nyaradzayi Gumbonzvanda and YWCA USA CEO Dara Richardson Heron.

58th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women kicks off March 10

The fifty-eighth session of the Commission on the Status of Women will take place at United Nations Headquarters in New York from 10 to 21 March 2014.

Representatives of Member States, UN entities, and ECOSOC-accredited non-governmental organizations (NGOs) from all regions of the world attend the session.
